A few days ago, I awoke to serious fears of doubt about this current mission of easy weight loss. Are you kidding? “It’s never going to happen unless you work really really hard at it. You haven’t lost a pound, if anything you gained” I said to myself.

Working hard at anything these days is not what I really want to do. Anything I really worked hard for in the past, never worked out for me. I never really got anywhere.

Life has taught me to relax, go with the flow, and to really know what I want, get rid of any fears and with a combination faith, fun, following my intuition and a little physical effort everything I’ve wanted was achieved with ease.

Realizing this, I knew I just couldn’t focus on fat loss. I needed to focus on being healthy. And by focusing on being healthy, my body would tell me what kinds of foods it needed, how much of the food and when it wanted it. It is simple and easy; I just needed to get back in the flow of doing that, like I did years ago.

This was how I achieved an effective weight loss of 40 lbs for so many years. When I started focusing on healthy eating back in 1992, it was to help cure my dysmenorrhea. Along the way, the excess fat disappeared, my face cleared up and I was cured of my monthly ailment.

I reasoned if my grandmother of 80 could be slim, healthy and look wonderful by still eating nutrient dense foods, than I could do the same. The same thing goes for my father of 65; he is still healthy and strong from eating nutrient dense foods.

First tip I remembered today was to always eat half of my serving and save the rest for another mini meal later. Since the stomach is a muscle, the more food you fill it with, the bigger it will get. And right now I needed my stomach to shrink.

The second major tip I remembered today was to hold my abdominal muscles in a much as possible as I went about my day. Now I was doing this before, but I would forget and let my abdominal muscles relax.

Today while wearing my Asian girdle, I pulled it extra tight and my goal today and going forward, is to try and keep my abdominal muscles pulled in so they are not resting on the girdle.

If I felt the girdle on my abdomen, then this will serve as a reminder to pull in my abdominal muscles again, especially when I’m picking up my son and while working on the computer.

Well as far as my healthy eating plan for today. I had oatmeal, soaked overnight in Kefir and water, with two omega 3 eggs, a little cinnamon, about 2 tsp of Rapunzel Pure Organic Whole Cane sugar and ¼ cup of non-homogenized heavy cream.

I placed half of the serving in the fridge for later, my son had about 1/4th cup of my serving and I ate the rest. I’m not going to count calories, too much work, I will just continue to focus on being healthy and eating low glycemic carbohydrates, proteins and healthy fats. The healthy fats I choose to consume are olive oil, coconut oil, and raw nuts and seeds.

For lunch I had Wild Caught Brisling Sardines hand packed in spring water, with a little mustard and mayonnaise, with homemade Naan flat bread. Sardines are a great source of protein, calcium, and omega 3 fatty acids.

For dinner I had Whole Catch Wild Key West Pink Shrimp, dipped in organic non-hydrogenated oil whole wheat bread crumbs, then sautéed in coconut oil. I really love this shrimp because there are no additional chemicals added to the product.

My two snacks for the day were 8oz of raw cows milk with egg white protein powder.

Water intake was about 4 (12oz) glasses; I’m still working on this one. Some days I make it through the 64oz and some days I don’t.

Recap : healthy tips

Focus on being healthy and eating healthy foods, the rest will take care of itself

Eat half of a serving

Suck in abdominal muscles as much as possible while wearing a comfortable non stretchable girdle

I’m actually surprised at how good I feel since it has been a long time. I feel physically stronger and mentally calmer. I would still love to sleep move, from all those sleepless night most mothers experience, however I don’t feel exhausted anymore.

Well it has been 16 months since our son was born and I now weigh more than when I first got pregnant. Strange thing, I was thinking to myself the other day. I don’t eat that much with the small meals during the day. How could I have gained 11 lbs since the delivery? This is not good.

Now I’m just like all the other women who told me through the years, that once you have kids, you’d get fat. Once you hit 40 something, you’ll get fat. Once your happy in a relationship, you’ll get fat. I always told them no-no, not me. Well here we are at 166.6 lbs, 40 something, with a belly that still looks pregnant, and long gone are my washboard abs.

How do I accomplish this goal of getting to a healthy 135lbs, without struggle, without starving myself and without living at the gym? Living at the gym will not help me, because I knew from running track in high school, exercise just makes me hungrier. While learning about being healthy and eating nutritious foods over the past 18 years, before 4 yours ago, I never had an issue with maintaining my weight. I was able to eat what I wanted, when I wanted it, without any issues.

What had changed so much over the last 4 years that caused me to weigh 150lb when I got pregnant? Well there were lots of changes. They included a new relationship, new home, graduating from College, a baby, working from home, a new puppy and an old grouchy dog. With all these changes, I’m lucky I don’t weigh 200lbs.

There was one more change I didn’t see at first, my food choices. I really got off track with the way I used to eat. Thinking back, my organic healthy eating plan consisted of low glycemic carbohydrates, about 40 percent of my total intake. Along, with lean proteins making up 20 percent of my total intake for the day. Then the remaining 40 percent consisted of healthy fats.

There were 5 mini meals per day, protein shakes with kefir, egg white protein powder, walnuts and berries and a little yoga and walking here and there. Could I do this again? Could I not do this again? I needed to feel better, not only for myself, but for my family, especially by busy little toddler, who wants to have fun all day. When all I want to do is sleep.

So here’s my mission, this day 2/22/2011:

I want to get back to my organic healthy eating plan.

I want to weigh between 135 and 140lbs, all from fat loss.

I want to feel like a “hot mama” again, instead of feeling tired and o-d. I just can’t bring my keys to type that word, since it has yet to leave my lips.

I want to accomplish this goal by May 1st, 2011.

By the Power of God:

I’m back to my organic healthy eating plan consisting of (40%) low glycemic carbohydrates, (20%) lean Proteins, and (40%) healthy fats.

I weigh between 135lbs and 140lbs, all from fat loss.

I’m a “hot mama” full of energy!
